sunday was c-r-a-zee. Like, seriously man, crazy. mom n i went to chinatown to um, shop for chi new yr clothes. yes yes i noe.. it's not even christmas... but my mom doesn't celebrate christmas.. so... chi new yr IS the next festive.

so anyway, we walked e usual places... it's like, i've been there LOADS of times this whole yr(my dad always brings us there on sundays) that i've gotten pretty sick of the place... but i noted one point though... chinatown is filled with caucasions. uh-huh. *grins* From friendly looking elderly back-packers to young little kids... adults, teens... ooh lol. lots of them with cameras. Realised something. These people dont give a hoot on what people think of their dressings. i mean, they wear shorts, big tees, n shoes with their socks pulled up real high... But here in singapore, we're all image conscious. whatever we put on, we'll still manage to find a thought that will discourage us from wearing that.. like," i look like a nerd with my socks pulled up so high." or "no i cant wear this, it makes me look fat." I must say that i do so too... i guess it's because we asians already feel inferior to the westerners in terms of looks and size... (oh wait, OR is that only me who feels so?) which is why we end up being so conscious of our image..OR IS IT NOT? Whatever it is, i must say that it is a good sign that there r tourists in chinatown because it means, anna honey, it's time to go down there babe. ;)

So anyway, i've nv seen mom spent money like water flowing down the river. seriously. she bought more clothes then i could imagine, when normally even a $10 thing would set her thinking for a long time( n she usually wont even buy it). so the way she bought her stuffs, it was like woah. i even asked her if she had striked lottery.(n NO she didnt so u guys who want to borrow $ from me, I AM BROKE.) then there was this part in chinatown, CK i think, that had this HUGE chi new yr sale thingy... where they were selling chi new yr decos for like, $1 or 50 cents... NATURALLY, that area was filled with all the typical singaporean aunties, all snatching for the nicer ones. did i mention that my mom is a typical singaporean auntie? lol well, she is. Need i say more?

my 1st aunt(mom's eldest sis) came along in e afternoon n we went for more shopping. My legs were dying. i wanted to rest soooo badly but it was only e beginning for my aunt. darn. lol n my mom n her had loads to talk abt. none of which i understood. we walked thru the markets selling clothes at chinatown... and also down e streets...BTW, chinatown sells the kind of bags that i wanted... but didnt buy any eventually... We walked, n walked, n walked. we eventually ended up in people's park's OG around 5+. that was when i felt like puking, for some reason i dunno y. anyway mom's legs were hurting as much as mine but she didnt want to give up..UNTIL we saw the chair. lol. my aunt went on to the cheongsam section. OH BOY. y oh boy? well let's c what happened earlier.

aunt: swee hoon u shud wear more spaghetti striped type of clothes...young n nice...
me: erm i dont want to..heh
mom: she doesnt dare n she doesnt like one... so traditional lah she.
aunt: u shud wear u noe, u wear on wl's(her eldest son, who's getting married nxt yr in dec) wedding ok?
me: no
then she kept on talking abt it..
finally, me: oh ok. i'll try one only if u wear a cheongsam.(she hates cheongsams n usaully wont even look at one)*smiling with glee*
i thought i had her there. or at least, i thought i did.

so anyway back to the OG part... she ended up trying on some cheongsams, which costs like, abt $400 each... woah. BUT NO, I will not keep my promise. i'm a sinner, remember? :)

on our way back, some funny incident happened on e train with this grp of teens. lol shant talk abt it cos i'm too lazy to type it all out now. i think that's enough of crap for now. oh btw, my cousin n i finally DID figure out how to play "Perfect" by SP n it sounds grreeat with 2 guitars! woot! Pink Squares(grey circles), here we come! oh n i'm planning to suggest (or sabo if u wanna call it) to ask Andy Josh to perform on my cousin(e one getting married nxt dec)'s wedding. after all, singapore idol? LOL evil me.

ps: i swear i saw mrs sim on e tummitrim ad. holy.

and spaghetti stripes aren't that bad. just think of people who're fatter than you when you wear it. ;) only thing i dislike when i wear it is my hideous tanlines.
